Description Maria Estela is a key figure in the El Morito association, farming at 1790–1850 masl in Cajamarca. She works alongside her three children, cultivating Yellow Caturro, Marshell, and Bourbon, and handling all post-harvest processing on-farm. Education is at the heart of her efforts: two of her children aim to become doctors, while her son Antony is preparing to specialize in post-harvest techniques to carry on the family’s coffee legacy. Founded in 2022, El Morito is a community-based group of smallholders who process their coffees independently before consolidating for export. This structure prioritizes traceability, autonomy, and shared investment in quality.
